We continue to closely monitor the outbreak of the novel (new) coronavirus (COVID-19), and we continue to work with The Louisiana Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to respond to any potential COVID-19 cases that may present at our facility.
The pre-procedure nurse is screening patients and their driver via phone prior to day of procedure. In addition to the phone screening, patients and visitors entering the ASC are questioned on all of their recent travel and detailing symptoms, including fever or respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath or cough.
Out of an abundance of caution, effective immediately, we are changing our visitation policy until further notice. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted inside the ASC, as a visitor. We ask each patient to limit visitors to 1 visitor at the facility. This visitor should be their source of transportation to and from the facility on the day of procedure. } March 19, 2020 – Encourage visitor to stay in the vehicle. Track contact number for notifications from CCSC regarding patient status; give Center number for visitor contact if any need arises. (ex. Need for restroom; drink) }
These visitors must not be considered a Restricted Person by definition of the Louisiana Department of Health.
Definition
A Restricted Person is defined as a person who meets any one or more of the following criteria:
Communication
Communication with patients by family outside of the ASC will be done via phone (cell or landline). Family members are encouraged to keep in contact with the visitor or driver of the patient for updates.
These measures will be in effect until we are advised by the CDC or the Louisiana Department of Health that it is safe to return to normal visiting practices. We appreciate your support and understanding during this time.
